DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, November 13\, 2025\nWinnipeg MB\n727 McDermot Avenue \nDiscovery Days in Health Sciences are one-day events that provide secondary school students (primarily grades 10 and 11) with the opportunity to explore a variety of career options in medicine and the health sciences. Participants gain a clearer picture of what it would be like to be a health professional by interacting with researchers\, clinicians and educators in their real-life work setting. The event includes: \n\nA dynamic keynote lecture\nAn opportunity to attend two interactive workshops pre-selected from a catalogue of options\n‘Health Pros Tell All’ career panel discussion \n\nA teacher or guidance counsellor serving as a liaison between the CMHF and students must first register their school. The liaison will receive periodic updates and further information\, including instructions about how students register. \nThe Canadian Medical Hall of Fame is committed to fostering inclusion and supporting the leadership efforts at Canadian universities to change the diversity pathway to medicine and the health sciences. We encourage teachers to include students who self-identify as Indigenous\, Black or a Person of Colour\, or who come from a rural or known disadvantaged socioeconomic background\, when considering who will be invited to attend this event. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Wow…that time already…this year we are pleased to announce this will be our 10th Annual Santa Claus Parade—a significant milestone for our community.\n\n\nOn DECEMBER 6th we invite all local and surrounding businesses to participate in the parade; there is no fee to enter\, and it remains a highlight of our community’s calendar.\n\n\nParticipants are asked to gather in front of Juan More Thing on Grand Beach Road between 11:45 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. The parade will commence promptly at 12:30 p.m. A map of the route will be posted\, and float positions will be assigned upon arrival.\n\n\nThe parade will conclude at the Grand Marais Recreation Centre\, where a light lunch will be provided for all participants as a gesture of appreciation for your continued support.\nIf you’ve confirmed your participation\, you can ignore this message. If not\, please confirm by phone or email.\n\n\nFor everyone’s safety\, please observe the following guidelines:\n• Ensure all lights and four-way flashers are activated.\n• Maintain a slow speed throughout the route\, as there are typically many young children present.\n• We anticipate that this may be our most successful event yet.
