Roads & Rain

Friday, October 4, 2019

Did you know that the RM of St. Clements has over 900 km of roads? Did you also know that this has been Manitoba’s rainiest September on record?

Since most of our Municipalities roads are gravel and require constant maintenance, they have been drastically affected by these wet weather conditions. Due to this current state of the roads, it presents us with the challenge of getting our equipment on the roads to maintain them, as we do not want to damage the roads further by having our heavy graders on them. As the old quote goes, when it rains, it pours.

Our Public Works Department is determined to get out and get the roads graded when they get the chance between the forecasted rain this week and weekend. As soon as Public Works gets the chance to go out on the roads without damaging any further with their equipment, they will be out there.
