| Hello! I’m writing outside our monthly newsletter schedule with a very special offer – an opportunity to double your impact. As you may know, plans are in the works to revitalize your Library. If all goes well, construction will start in January 2026 to expand and reconfigure the space, enhancing both the collections and the programming you can access. It all starts by expanding the children’s section into the 6,000 sq ft space that was formerly the Red River Planning District. By moving the children’s areas, there will be more space for books, activities, and study space. The Story Continues is a $2.5 million expansion campaign to raise money for this project. The three partner municipalities made a combined investment of $1.2 million to buy the space. That leaves $1.3 million to raise. Last week, Jim and Betty Anne Gaynor kicked off the community fundraising effort by announcing they would match the next $300,000 donated. They’ve given community until December 1, 2025 to ‘match’ their support. This means, every $10 you give will become $20, and every $50 becomes $100. If you are able, we hope you will please consider giving today. Visit us in-person to discuss or click here for online options: https://gfrl.org/continue-our-story All community donations will create the purpose-built spaces you need for exceptional programming, community building, family activities, and make room for 20,000 more books and materials in the collections. (If you’re interested, there are also naming opportunities available. Please let me know at (204) 785-2204 or kkuryliw@gfrl.org). Thank you for caring and for your ongoing support! Best, Ken |
