      Project Information

      Our Mission and Vision

Is to create an environment that:

      • fosters the growth and well being of all ages, families and organizations that builds community spirit and growth
      • promotes the protection of the environment

This will be achieved in part with the 10 acre St. Clements Park. The park will provide a place for recreation and to connect with nature. The park features will include the following in the present phase:

      • a recreational pond
      • future source of geothermal heat and cooling for the building
      • skating and tobogganing in the winter
      • paddling in the summer
      • pathway around the pond
      • parking lot
      • heritage interpretation
      • play structure

      Planned future additions will include:

      • splash pad
      • picnic shelter/stage
      • activity centre

      Individual & Community benefits

The benefits for the individual using the park includes:

      • a meeting spot for connecting with friends and meeting new ones
      • known to enhance physical and mental well being
      • improved self esteem
      • safe place to walk or run

The benefits for the community to have this park includes:

      • aids in environmental and ecological survival
      • known to reduce health care, social services, police and justice costs
      • an economic generator as an attractive place to live

      Why Now

The RM identified through needs assessments that there is no public community gathering space for recreation and cultural activity. This park will serve as a focal point for the community. We have recognized that the children, youth, adults and seniors need a place to meet and participate in wellness, recreation, social, arts and cultural activities in South St. Clements and we are passionate on providing that to them.

Rather than have our community spirit suffer, we are striving to see it prosper. We want to provide the opportunity for our community to gather with friends and neighbours. A community gathering spot is invaluable and the activities become the “magnet and glue” for bringing people together, creating friendships and social connections for all generations.

      Fundraising Information

A Place to Connect, A Place to Enjoy

Firstly, we’d like to thank you for taking the time to review the following fundraising and donation information for the St. Clements Activity Centre and Park.  At the moment we are currently fundraising for the park. We are very excited about the new park and the support by donors will make our park an outstanding community space.  We look forward to creating a park for our residents to connect and enjoy for years to come and with your help we can do it.

It is our mission to create an environment that fosters the growth and wellbeing of all ages, families and organizations that builds community spirit and growth, as well as promotes the protection of the environment. This will be achieved in part with the 10 acre St. Clements Park which will provide a place for recreation and a place to connect with nature.

We greatly appreciate you sharing in this exciting time in our community.  We know that your contribution will make our recreation park one to remember and will exhibit your importance to the community.

The St. Clements Activity Centre and Park is being planned and implemented in phases.

      • Phase 1 (complete) – consisted of securing the land, site preparation, community engagement, conceptual design, and physical site preparation. Approximate cost $500,000.
      • Phase 2 (underway) – completion of the outdoor area/park with amenities. Budgeted cost $1,500,000.
      • Phase 3 (pending) – focuses on the final design, construction and programming of the activity centre. Estimated at $6,300,000.

Friends of the St. Clements Activity Centre and Park

Donors can support the development of the St. Clements Activity Centre and Park with a one time gift and/or a gift paid in increments over the next 3 years.

These gifts will get the project to the starting line and help make the project a reality for the community.

      Making a Donation

If you would like to make a donation to the St. Clements Park, please make the cheque payable to ‘RM of St. Clements’ and mail it to Box 2 Grp 35 RR1, East Selkirk MB, R0E 0M0.

All donations over $50.00 will receive a tax receipt. All donations over $1,000 will be recognized.

      Park Furniture

Furniture for the park will be purchased in the upcoming weeks. If you wish to support the park development by making a monetary donation for the cost of one of these items, we would in turn have a name plaque with your details placed on the furniture item. This would make a great holiday present, memorial, recognition or for other special occasions.

The specific furniture is as follows:

      • three picnic tables
      • one wheelchair accessible picnic table
      • six benches

To make a monetary donation for a piece of furniture, the cost would be $2000.00. Donors will receive a tax receipt for this donation.

We look forward to discussing with you further the donor recognition opportunities that we can offer you.  If you have any further questions, please contact by email at recreation@rmofstclements.com.
