The RM is pleased to advise that the Province of Manitoba has granted an extension allowing the existing well to remain in service while the new system undergoes commissioning, testing, and regulatory approval.

The extension provides flexibility to maintain a potable water supply during the transition period; however, the existing well may be decommissioned before August 15, 2026 if the new well system receives approval for public use sooner. The existing well must be decommissioned no later than August 15, 2026.

The current plan is to commission the new system without disinfection treatment. If commissioning and water quality testing are completed successfully and all regulatory requirements are met, residents will continue to receive potable water without interruption during the transition to the new facility.
