Public input wanted on the future of Grand Marais
Consultant Scatcliff Miller Murray was hired in May 2018 to lead a strategic planning and community engagement process in Grand Marais to address some public concern on recent planning initiatives.
The intent is to bring in a ‘fresh eyes’ perspective to work with the Grand Marais community to take a critical look at past plans/strategies – confirm financial feasibility, identify what remains relevant, identify new opportunities, and determine tangible strategies/actions (and corresponding timelines) to confront apparent challenges facing Grand Marais.
The consultant is completing interviews and discussions with local stakeholders, First Nations, government and Travel Manitoba regarding strategic planning and economic development for the Grand Marais area.
The community engagement process to receive public input on planning initiatives will be at the Grand Marais Community Central Farmers’ Market at 36058 PTH 12 in Grand Marais on:
- Friday, August 24, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm
- Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm .
Bring your opinions on past plans/strategies and ideas for new opportunities to help develop a sustainable plan for the future of the Grand Marais area.
