The RM of St. Clements joined developers, project partners, and community members today to celebrate the official sod turning for East Selkirk Station, a new commercial development planned for East Selkirk.
Located on approximately four acres along Highway 59 at Harry Waytuik Drive, the development will provide more than 21,000 square feet of commercial space designed to support a variety of retail, professional, medical, and service-based businesses.
The project is expected to enhance access to local services, create employment opportunities, and support continued economic growth within the community.
Mayor Debbie Fiebelkorn welcomed attendees and highlighted the importance of responsible growth that benefits residents while maintaining the qualities that make St. Clements “The Place to Be.”
“As our community continues to grow and evolve, developments like this help ensure that residents have greater access to local services, businesses, and amenities close to home,” said Mayor Fiebelkorn.
Jay, representing GS Homes, thanked Council, Administration, and the community for their support and spoke about the vision behind the project.
“We’re excited to get this project started and bring needed services to the community,” said Jay. “We hope East Selkirk Station becomes a place where people can come together—a community hub where memories are made and people can enjoy all the good things that come with being part of a growing community.”
Phase 1 of the development is expected to include a full-service gas bar, coffee shop, hand-wand car wash, and a retail and professional strip mall with space for medical, professional, and small retail businesses. Future phases may include additional office space and restaurant opportunities.
The RM of St. Clements thanks the developers, project partners, Council members, staff, and community members who attended today’s ceremony and helped mark this exciting milestone for East Selkirk.
