St. Clements Activity Centre Grand Opening Celebration

    Home
RM of St. Clements  /  News  /  St. Clements Activity Centre Grand Opening Celebration

On July 30, 2026, the Rural Municipality of St. Clements proudly celebrated the official grand opening of the new St. Clements Activity Centre, marking the completion of a long-awaited community project that will serve residents for generations to come.

The celebration brought together residents, community partners, elected officials, and supporters to mark this important milestone.

The RM was honoured to welcome Ginette Lavack, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indigenous Services and Member of Parliament for Saint-Boniface—Saint-Vital, Glen Simard, MLA for Brandon East and Minister of Municipal and Northern Affairs, and Jeff Wharton, MLA for Red River North, who joined Mayor Debbie Fiebelkorn and Council for the official ribbon cutting ceremony.

The event also included a special blessing from Knowledge Keeper Jeannie Whitebird. As part of the blessing, Jeannie received a pouch of tobacco and shared that she would walk the path around the pond, spreading the tobacco and offering her blessing to the land and the community space.

Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed an evening of family-friendly activities, food trucks, local vendors, live entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks display.

The RM was also pleased to welcome representatives from neighbouring municipalities, the City of Selkirk, local organizations, community groups, project partners, and residents from across the region.

The RM of St. Clements extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended and helped make the grand opening celebration such a success. We are grateful to our funding partners, contractors, volunteers, vendors, entertainers, and staff whose dedication helped bring this vision to life.

The St. Clements Activity Centre represents years of planning, collaboration, and community investment. We look forward to seeing this new space become a place where residents gather, connect, stay active, and create lasting memories for years to come.
