We know there are a lot of questions about the Beaconia Well, and we’re doing our best to answer what we can as information becomes available.
The RM of St. Clements is working closely with qualified water professionals, engineers, and the Province of Manitoba to design a new, compliant system. The Beaconia Well has always been registered as a pail fill station, not a truck fill station, and our goal is to propose an upgrade that maintains that original use and character.
This distinction is important because it allows the Province to waive certain disinfection (chlorination) requirements if the safety of the water can be demonstrated through testing. Once the new system design is finalized and approved, we’ll be able to share more details and answer many of the questions being asked.
For residents who need potable water for cisterns, a truck fill station is available in East Selkirk.
