May 21, 2025
This past week, our community was put to the test as a significant wildfire broke out near the Libau area. It was a serious and fast-moving situation, but what followed was an inspiring show of unity, strength, and compassion.

Your dedication on the front lines kept people and property safe, and your efforts will not be forgotten.
Community Support
What made this response truly remarkable was how our entire community stepped up:
- Firefighters’ spouses came together to make sandwiches and keep everyone fed
- Local residents ran pumps and extinguished fires near homes
- Public Works team ensured fuel and water were available on site
- Fort Distributors helped transport water
- Snak Shak responded on very short notice to feed the crews
- Domino’s Pizza reached out to offer their support by donating food
Every single contribution mattered in this coordinated response.
United in Purpose
This was truly an “all hands on deck” effort. Through it all, our teams communicated non-stop, supported one another, and responded with coordination, care, and a shared commitment to protecting our community. We are so proud of the people we work with and the community we serve.
Current Status
Please remember that the fire ban remains in effect. Your cooperation is essential in helping us prevent further risk during this dry season.
To everyone who played a part, thank you. Your efforts remind us of the power of community and the strength we have when we come together in times of need.
